How I can support you
These are the different ways I can help support you and your loved one.
-
Holding space for the person dying and their families with grace, dignity, and peace. If desired, I can explain the process of dying and active dying, helping you to understand what your loved one is and will experience. Have conversations about fear, meaning, regret, gratitude, and hope.
-
My primary focus is advocating on behalf of your loved one to ensure their wishes are being met. I am also here to support you in any way, such as attending appointments and making sure family is updated.
-
I will provide support to create a calm bedside environment and helping to setup family rituals (such as candles, scents, photos, tangible mementos, etc.). I can help create a peaceful environment and help provide respite for caregivers who need rest. Shortly after passing, I can offer bereavement support to the family.
-
Medical Assistance in Dying program. I can hold space to talk through emotion and fear, help families understand what to expect, support peaceful rituals, help facilitate family communication, be present for the person and the family on the day of MaiD, and offer early stage support afterwards.
-
Get compassionate support with advanced care plans and the legal processes required. My job is to make this as simple and easy as possible for you and your family.
-
Exploring ways to create lasting memories of your life, tailored specifically to you. I can help you find unique ways to share your story to individual people and your community as a whole.
-
A celebration of life is a more informal gathering where family and friends can remember their love for you, and can be held anytime; while a funeral is traditionally more structured. I can help support through the process of pre-planning either according to your loved one’s wishes.
-
Help families manage the practical and emotional chaos for them to focus on companionship, and navigating the care process. I can provide respite for caregivers, and offer initial bereavement support. Help normalize death and offer choices to create a more peaceful and personalized experience. I can answer any questions you may have.
